Day Break @ The Prom 04-10-14 (Live Review)

After their Melbourne show at the end of last month, tonight was Day Break’s hometown show for their ‘Fireworks’ Single Launch held at The Prom! The night was opened by well-known local acts Forbidden Envy and soloist Katelin Bamford.

First up was Katelin Bamford. She played a few covers that got the crowd singing along and dancing around. She was playing the guitar and working her effects the whole set. My favourite song by her was her cover of Teenage Dirtbag. A great way to pump up the crowd!

Next was Forbidden Envy. I hadn’t seen them live before but have heard great things about them. They certainly did not disappoint. Such great young talent from Adelaide, I can see these guys going far. They smashed their set tonight!

Next up was the headline act, Day Break. I’d seen them a few times but never at a headline show, so I was even more excited for tonight.

Halfway through the set, ¾ of the band left the stage for a drum solo interlude by Nic. I’d always loved his drum kit; the bright yellow stands out and looks so good on stage. In his solo, the rest of the band ran on with water pistols and shot them into the crowd.

Fans were handing their memes to Marcus during one of his acoustic songs.

Day Break had the crowd singing along to all their songs. An awesome night and awesome performances by all the acts.
